Data is the fuel of the digitalized society. It drives innovative AI-based solutions and large-scale analytics for smart businesses. Synthetic data has been shown in many application scearios to be a promising technique to address issues of data scarcity, sensitivity and protection of personal data.

However, how can you be sure that your synthetic data both is fit for the purpose that you want to use it for and protects sensitive data sufficiently?

How can you get a reliable indication of synthetic data quality early in your data-driven processes, avoiding low-quality synthetic data undermines your adaptation of AI-technology and advanced data analytics?

Our Mission

The mission of the SyntIA project is to advance the technological state-of-the-art in assessing synthetic data quality and develop practice-oriented, actionable quality estimation methods.

Our objectives are:

  1. Develop accurate and reliable synthetic data utility estimators
  2. Develop accurate and reliable synthetic data privacy estimators
  3. Integrate estimators to measure trade-offs between utility and privacy and optimize data synthetization
  4. Evaluate the technical solutions empirically in industrial settings
